Bowens Mills Civil War Reenactment

With Grandma and Grandpa still visiting, we decided to take them to something they don't have in Kansas, at least not that I had heard of. The civil war reenactments are really cool. We went to two last year and I liked this one at Bowens Mills because they also have a real cider press they use and demo and sell the cider from.
Grinding up the apples
Wrapping up the pulp that they layer with boards and stack a few high and the press is the part on the right.
Yum!
Time for a bit-o-war.
We know a couple of families that actually take part in these. We know the girl in the bonnet,
G&G got the kids some hats. Now we've got some Yankees and Rebels!
Watch out world!
But, seriously, I'm glad I didn't have to live through that hard trial in our nation's history. Praise the Lord that we could salvage our country and stop the war.
